Despite the fact that the value of cryptocurrency continues to fluctuate significantly, luxury watchmakers continue to be active in the field, either by accepting crypto payments or through designs.
The most recent luxury crypto watch comes from Jacob and Co, which announced on Instagram that it will be presenting the all-new Astronomia Solar Bitcoin limited edition at the World premiere at ‘The Geneva Watch Days’ by appointment only, from August 29 to September 1.
The new Bitcoin-themed limited edition watch, according to the company, is the first high-complication wristwatch devoted to and inspired by the cryptocurrency ecosystem.
Surprisingly, the luxury watch is said to have “a rotating Bitcoin currency emblem. A 1ct diamond moon, a yellow sapphire sun, and a golden Earth. A miniature black rocketship with a blazing reactor and a Bitcoin symbol on its way to the moon. All of these symbols illustrate the tale of the first cryptocurrency’s evolution from concept to reality, from outlier to financial system mainstay.”

Notably, CoinGabbar reported at the beginning of August that, despite the market downturn, luxury watchmakers continue to accept cryptocurrency as payment.
It is worth noting that the cryptocurrency market meltdown in July increased the availability of luxury watches on the secondary market. This comes at a time when prices for the most coveted models have lately fallen, indicating that the once-thriving market for pre-owned luxury timepieces is losing momentum.
Initially, a new set of luxury buyers had arisen as a result of the historically high prices of cryptocurrencies, which resulted in price increases for some models that were unprecedented in the history of industry.
Lastly, in the last two months, we have seen a remarkable increase in the acceptance of cryptocurrency payments by well-known brands. Many of these luxury brands have also filed trademarks for NFTs and cryptocurrency. What’s your thought regarding the growing acceptance of cryptocurrency by luxury brands?
