Welcome to Skyweaver – the future of Trading Card Games (TCGs) on the blockchain.‍Gamers spend a chunk of their time playing various games, wherein rewards come in the form of in-game items such as avatars, fuel-ups, weapons, etc. Most of these upgrades are earned as the gamer levels up, while some need to be purchased from the game store to ensure a competitive edge. With Web3 and Play-to-earn (P2E) games, the power dynamic has moved into the hands of the user.Today, we discuss one such game—Skyweaver, a TCG from another dimension.‍If you’ve been a fan of trading card games and haven’t yet tried Skyweaver, then you are missing out on something big.Here’s a game where players can actually own in-game assets—basically the cards double up as NFTs and are stored in your wallet. So, even if in the future you decide to quit playing the game, you’d still have card assets that will be of value. It’s a strategic game that has simple yet beautiful graphics and is difficult to stop once you step into the universe.Each game is a 1v1 battle. As a player, your sole focus is to defeat the enemy and protect your hero’s health. You begin with a deck of cards. Each of them holds units and spells that can be used to attack the enemy&#39;s arsenal.Let’s focus on the most important aspect of this trading card game—the Cards!‍There are three grades available to players – Base, Silver, and Gold. Base cards are non-tradeable and are unlocked as and when you level up. Silver cards, on the other hand, are tradeable. You can win them as you progress on the leaderboard. However, in order to unlock Silver cards, one needs to play against ranked players and reach a certain level in the game. The final and most sought-after category is that of Gold cards. These are of limited supply and available only in the Conquest Mode (think of it like a mini-tournament), so one needs to fight really hard in order to get their hands on them.‍There are five types of prisms attached to each card type: Strength, Wisdom, Agility, Heart and Intellect.‍Each prism will have a unique set of cards that will have mechanics that work according to that prism. For example, the Heart prism will have a lot of attributes of health, living, and healing in the cards that it holds.It is advisable for players to get accustomed to all of these Prisms whilst playing the game—tutorials or vs. the Bot. By experimenting with different sets of cards, one will understand the kind of strategy that suits each deck available to them. For instance, I started with a mix of Strength and Agility – wherein it allowed me to maintain the right balance between aggression and defence—but as I got deeper into the game, my confidence grew and I experimented with an aggressive approach as I went against the ranked players.Mainstream gamers who are traditionally accustomed to the Web2 onboarding setup might assume the process of Skyweaver to be cumbersome due to a lack of information regarding wallets, NFTs, or Web3 as a whole. However, Skyweaver has managed to solve this problem.The onboarding process takes no more than 30 seconds. Users can simply connect their ID (Gmail, Apple, Discord, among others) and set up their sequence wallet to get access to the game.One might ask, &#34;Why do I have to connect another wallet?&#34; or &#34;Is Skyweaver going to charge me money even before I begin playing the game?&#34; Absolutely not. Skyweaver is a free-to-play game and you can think of the Sequence wallet as a vault to keep all your trading cards safe and secure.Once the onboarding is done, it is advisable to go through the Tutorials available on the homepage. Unlike most tutorials, which are recorded videos, these expect you to make the move as and when instructions play on the screen. This enables the players to get a first-hand experience of the game mechanics and gives them enough time to understand the cards, spells, and their effects.After the tutorial, one can choose to practice with the bot. Keep in mind that just because you’ll be playing with a bot doesn’t mean it will be easy to win. The difficulty level may vary with each game you play with the bot, as it intuitively brings in certain challenges to reading your strategic moves as you get better at the game.If you think you’ve aced the bot, you can skip your way to the Ranked section, wherein you will face real players who might be ahead of the learning curve. In terms of the decks available, the best way to ace the game is to give priority to one deck and understand each card that comes with it. For example, my favourite is the Strength deck, and I pick and choose my cards accordingly as I enter the game.‍However, if you are someone who loves to experiment with the format, you could always go into the Discovery mode and select the ‘Random’ option. This will assign you a random hero deck, which could even be a mix of the cards available to each player.‍Skyweaver is available to play on web browsers, making it accessible for both PC and Mac users.
