<p>Bitcoin rallied and reversed its gains throughout the week; but price settled at above $45k by Sunday as volatility faded. As compared to the previous week, bitcoin open interest decreased by more than $915 million as traders backed off from holding open positions. However, aggregated funding rates remained positive and even increased slightly, indicating that traders remain optimistic. Bitcoin’s rally to $47k on Monday alone caused over $142 million short positions to be liquidated.</p>
