CAKE fixed-term staking is coming soon from your favorite kitchen with a refreshed design and added benefits for long term staking.

Chefs are thrilled to announce the development of the brand new CAKE Syrup Pool with fixed-term staking. While we are currently waiting for the result of the security audits to launch this flavourful new pool, let’s dive into the sweet syrup and learn more about the new CAKE Syrup Pool first.

The fixed-term pool will provide convenience and flexibility to users who stake their CAKE. With the added fixed-term staking feature, the pool will provide a higher yield and many extra benefits to users who choose to lock their staked CAKE for a longer period of time. The best part is, the new fixed-term staking option will improve CAKE tokenomics by helping us and our community burn more CAKE and lock up part of the circulation supply of CAKE.

In summary, there will only be one CAKE Syrup Pool that offers flexible staking and fixed-term staking. Keep reading to learn more!

Flexible Staking — Stake it, Forget it

Since the Auto CAKE Syrup Pool launched back in late April 2021, it has become the most popular CAKE pool not only on PancakeSwap but also on the entire BNB smart chain, with more than 130 million CAKE being staked in the pool as of writing this. Users love the simplicity and the convenience of the pool. Just stake it, forget about it, and go make some pancakes. Or feel free to watch your staked balance of CAKE go nowhere but up, block by block.

That being said, the new CAKE Syrup Pool’s flexible staking option will replace the Auto CAKE Syrup Pool while providing the same simplicity and user-friendly experience. Flexible staking in the new pool will have the same exact fees as the current Auto CAKE Syrup Pool. The Manual CAKE Syrup Pool will be retired.

Fixed-Term Staking — Boosted APY, and More

For long term CAKE holders who want to maximize their yield and earn even more CAKE, the new CAKE pool will include the option for fixed-term staking. By choosing a more extended period and locking your CAKE in the pool, you will enjoy a linearly boosted APY compared to flexible staking. The longer you lock, the higher the boost applied to the yield. Fixed-term staking automatically compounds users’ CAKE rewards, locking them along with your staked CAKE, until your lock duration expires.

Providing a higher yield for fixed-term staking users is only our first step. Additionally, the fixed-term CAKE staking pool will determine a user’s IFO credit (the maximum amount of CAKE they can commit during an IFO), eliminating the need for the IFO CAKE Syrup Pool. The Chefs are cooking up additional benefits for fixed-term staking users in Q2, with the goal of making it an all-in-one CAKE pool that helps you navigate around the PancakeSwap ecosystem.

Currently, we are waiting for the smart contract of the new CAKE pool to finish being audited by industry-leading audit firms. We expect the audits to be completed soon, and the migration will take place in mid-April along with our new MasterChef V2! More news about that later.

We want to thank our amazing community members for continuing to support us and apologize that you all will have to wait a little longer than anticipated for the new CAKE pool and MasterChef V2, but it will be worth the wait!

Check out our new Cake Syrup Pool docs including FAQs.

To all projects currently utilizing Manual CAKE pool:

The team will be releasing a technical document with details of the new CAKE staking pool, how to migrate, and the testnet addresses for testing within the next day or two. Please be on the lookout for this announcement.

Any feedback and suggestions, please let us know on Twitter, in our Telegram group, in our Discord server, or over in our growing Reddit community!
