Valkyrie Will Be The First To Offer Ethereum Futures To Investors
Asset manager Valkyrie will begin offering exposure to Ether futures.
However, instead of a standalone ETF, it will be offered through its existing Bitcoin Strategy ETF starting October 3. The fund, to be renamed the Valkyrie Bitcoin and Ether Strategy ETF, will provide access to both top cryptocurrencies' futures contracts. This makes Valkyrie the first firm to offer investors exposure to Ethereum futures.
While the SEC has not yet allowed an Ethereum futures ETF as an individual product, Valkyrie is utilizing its approved Bitcoin vehicle to quickly integrate ETH exposure.
Analyst James Seyffart noted other issuers like VanEck may soon follow suit. Seyffart also reported the SEC beginning to delay mid-October decisions on seven spot Bitcoin ETF applications. The Ark Invest and 21Shares’ application was recently delayed to the final decision date on Jan. 10, 2024.
