Base, an Ethereum layer 2 network, today, is <a href="https://x.com/wbnns/status/1817984023336980757" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">set to undergo</a> a major development leap following an upgrade aimed at bolstering its performance whilst attracting more developers. The network announced plans to increase its gas target to 10 Mgas/second following the success of a previous milestone set last week.

Coinbase will mark a new milestone by raising its gas target. This is significant as it raises its gas target by double digits. Jesse Pollak, shared the good tidings via X (formerly Twitter), asserting that Base would be taking the note up a notch by increasing the gas target to 10 million gas units per second &nbsp;(MGas/s). The 10MGas/second represents a noble 10% of the original target of 1Ggas/second. 
This announcement has been met with great enthusiasm from the cryptocurrency community, as developers anticipate enhanced efficiency and performance on the <a href="https://www.crypto-news-flash.com/circle-launches-eurc-on-coinbase-base-network/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">network</a>.
