<p>Gala Games, a renowned blockchain gaming platform allowing players to earn crypto and non-fungible tokens through gameplay, has launched the test of the upcoming GalaChain blockchain network after several months of development. The GalaChain TestNet is now live for developers to deploy and test chain code in a secure environment.</p>
<p>In a July 30 blog post, Gala Games confirmed that its upcoming GalaChain TestNet has gone live for developers to deploy and test its viability. Gala Games first announced its forthcoming GalaChain network in August 2023. At the time, the web3 gaming platform moved all its unsold and reserved NFTs to the new proprietary blockchain network.</p>

<h2 id="what-is-gala-games">What Is Gala Games?</h2>
<p>Launched in 2019, Gala Games is a blockchain-based play-to-earn gaming platform that rewards players with digital assets such as crypto tokens or non-fungible tokens for their in-game play accomplishments. Gala Games’ has its native token, GALA, which is used to secure the platform and incentivize players.</p>
<p>The Gala Games platform features various gaming tiers, including real-time strategy (RTS), multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA), role-playing game (RPG) titles and more. Even though these gaming tiers differ considerably between titles, each tier rewards players with digital assets, including the GALA and non-fungible tokens.</p>
<p>Even though the Gala Games runs on the Ethereum blockchain network, the gaming platform has partnered with other chains in the Ethereum ecosystem, like Polygon, an Ethereum scaling solution, to allow its players to send and trade their crypto and non-fungible token collections at reduced gas fees.</p>
<p>In the coming weeks or months, the Gala Games team anticipates shifting operations to its autonomous blockchain network, GalaChain, after the official mainnet launch. GalaChain is powered by the GALA token. Gala will serve as the medium of exchange, allowing crypto token holders to pay for items and transfer value peer-to-peer within the platform’s ecosystem.</p>
<h2 id="how-do-gala-games-work">How Do Gala Games Work?</h2>
<p>Gala Games operates several components to deliver thrilling play-to-earn games to their players. The Gala Games relies on a distributed network of computers rather than a centralized server controlled by a single entity. The Gala Games offers various crypto games, attracting millions of players.</p>
<p>Popular games in the Gala Games include Town Star, a blockchain game that allows players to compete to assemble the essential components of a functioning town, such as water points, crops and storage facilities and Mirandus, a fantasy role-playing video game where players fight monsters, develop lands and earn rewards for their in-game achievements.</p>
<p>Other games include Spider Tanks, a multiplayer online battle arena game where players fight within a range of maps using various armament; Fortitude, a player-versus-player (PvP) tower defence game where players apply multiple strategies to attack other players’ villages and defend their own and the Echoes of Empire, a sci-fi strategy game where players fight over scarce resources distributed throughout the universe.</p>
