CMC AI Summary

The Nasdaq Composite fell 2.6% on Thursday, its steepest drop since June, as doubts over AI spending hit tech stocks. $BTC followed, slipping toward $81K while over $440M in leveraged positions were liquidated, mostly longs. Spot Bitcoin ETFs added $636M in net outflows, the largest single day since June. The question now is whether $80K holds if tech keeps falling. The transmission channel is the dominant thread. As Ekon details, the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index lost 6.72% in one session and crypto echoed at once — $COIN down 4.5%, $MSTR down 5%, AI-hosting miners down 8%. To Ekon, the risk budgets funding neocloud debt also fund $BTC ETF allocations, making Bitcoin a levered claim on AI liquidity. AnaLytic crypto agrees: $BTC still trades like a risk asset when liquidity leaves. The pushback is about levels, not correlation. AnaLytic crypto argues one bad Nasdaq day does not break $80K — that would take sustained tech weakness and more de-risking. The Crypto Brief notes the correlation isn't fixed and $BTC has outperformed equities in past stress, while CoinCompass sees the ETF bid as a cushion, though flows can flip fast. Is $80K the floor where buyers step in, or the line where liquidations turn a dip into a flush?
