$BTC Hits Extreme Fear at $62,700 With Capitulation Still Ahead

Bitcoin News

$BTC fell to a low of $62,700 late Monday before recovering to $63,220 according to CoinMarketCap data. The 24-hour decline reached 3.36%, while the broader crypto market dropped 3.42%, pulling the total market capitalization down to $2.25 trillion.

Major altcoins followed $BTC lower across the board. $ETH fell 2.5% to $1,828, $XRP declined 1.5% to $1.33, and $SOL dropped 2.3% to $76.8. The Fear and Greed Index stood at 11 at the time of writing, placing current sentiment among the most bearish psychological readings recorded in crypto.

Min Jung, associate researcher at Presto Research, said the move below $63,000 reflects a broad deterioration in crypto sentiment rather than a single fundamental catalyst. He attributed near-term pressure to macro headlines around tariffs and renewed geopolitical uncertainty, which are reinforcing a risk-off tone across digital assets.
