#OKX Survey Shows 13% of Gen Z Uses Crypto for Dates

A January survey commissioned by crypto exchange OKX found 13% of Gen Z respondents have paid for dates using cryptocurrency. The Pollfish survey of 1,000 U.S. adults revealed practical barriers are preventing wider adoption among younger Americans interested in digital asset payments.

Respondents who have not used #crypto for date payments cited the lack of a direct payment method as the primary obstacle. The gap between interest and actual usage points to infrastructure limitations in everyday payment scenarios, according to the survey data.

Financial literacy emerged as a valued trait in the dating market. Two-thirds of all respondents said knowledge of personal finance matters when evaluating potential partners, with Gen Z at 76% and Millennials at 75% showing the strongest support for this view.

Between 52% and 55% of survey participants said familiarity with #digitalassets, including cryptocurrencies and digital #wallets, can make someone more attractive as a partner. However, only 17% of all respondents said that actually holding digital assets increases attractiveness.

The survey found 31% of Gen Z respondents would find receiving #cryptocurrency as a Valentine's Day gift appealing. This interest in digital assets as gifts reflects growing acceptance of crypto among younger demographics, though ownership remains a limiting factor for broader adoption.
