#Coinbase and #Robinhood Join Government Tech Force Initiative


The U.S. government launched Tech Force on Monday to address critical skills gaps across artificial intelligence, #cybersecurity, and software engineering. Coinbase and Robinhood joined nearly 30 private sector partners lending workers for one- to two-year federal agency stints.


The Office of Personnel Management seeks 1,000 early-career candidates and experienced managers from Big Tech firms. Partner companies include Apple, Amazon Web Services, Nvidia and OpenAI, alongside the #crypto platforms.


#TechForce workers will deploy across the Treasury, Commerce Department, IRS and other federal agencies. The agencies will hire and fund the positions, with private sector partners providing training support.


OPM director Scott Kupor told CNBC that roughly 7% of the U.S. government workforce are early in their careers with five to seven years of experience. He said this compares to almost a quarter in the rest of the workforce.
