#PhalaNetwork Migrates From #Polkadot to #EthereumL2


The Phala Network community has approved a proposal to fully migrate the AI-focused project from its #Polkadot parachain to an Ethereum layer-2 network. The decision marks a strategic shift toward leveraging Ethereum's ecosystem for confidential AI and GPU compute services.


The proposal passed this week, with Phala announcing the migration will begin before Nov. 20. $PHA tokenholders will receive the new ERC-20 variant at a 1:1 ratio while staking, rewards, and governance functions continue seamlessly on the new infrastructure.


Phala already launched a functional #Ethereum L2 in January but maintained its Polkadot presence until now. The proposal argues that full migration and exclusive focus on Ethereum will maximize potential upside and reduce operational overhead. The project secured one of the first parachain slots during Polkadot auctions in late 2021.


The decentralized cloud computing network provides private, secure, and scalable computation for AI-integrated Web3 applications. Proposal author "doylegxd" recommended consolidating operations in a stronger Ethereum Virtual Machine-aligned ecosystem to support growth objectives.
