$ETH Co-Founder Moves $6M While Whales Buy $1.6B
Jeffrey Wilcke transferred 1,500
$ETH worth $6 million to the #Kraken exchange on Thursday as
$ETH price dropped from $4,000 to around $3,900. The Ethereum co-founder's transaction sparked speculation about potential selling pressure, though exchange deposits don't guarantee sales.
Wilcke previously moved $262 million worth of
$ETH to Kraken in past transactions. Analytics platform Lookonchain suggested he likely withdrew similar amounts to newly created wallets rather than selling. The co-founder later reposted social media speculation suggesting "he will sell more in the future."
Wilcke played an active development role from December 2013 to March 2018 before founding Grid Games video studio. He currently serves as CEO and technical director of the gaming company. The co-founder holds hundreds of millions of
$ETH across multiple wallet addresses. #Ethereum #whales
Despite Wilcke's modest $6 million transfer, institutional buyers accumulated significantly larger positions. At least 15 wallets purchased over 406,000
$ETH valued at $1.6 billion during the past two days. These purchases occurred through major platforms including Kraken, Galaxy Digital, BitGo, and FalconX.
