#Linea Restores Network Stability as $9.36B Token #Airdrop Goes Live

#Ethereum layer-2 network Linea restored stability on Wednesday after a temporary sequencer outage disrupted block production. The issue, first detected at 5:52 a.m. UTC, was resolved within an hour by the project’s engineering team.

The sequencer, which is responsible for ordering and batching transactions, resumed normal operations at 6:15 a.m. UTC. Following the fix, Linea transitioned into a monitoring phase to ensure performance held steady and no further disruptions occurred.

The disruption coincided with the network’s highly anticipated Token Generation Event, which is distributing 9.36 billion $LINEA tokens to roughly 749,000 eligible wallets. Linea said the airdrop forms part of its broader incentive program to reward early users, contributors, and ecosystem partners.

Recipients will have until Dec. 9 to claim their tokens, after which unclaimed allocations will return to the Linea Consortium Ecosystem Fund. The project emphasized that the fund will be used to support further growth of the Linea and Ethereum ecosystems.

Trading for $LINEA is scheduled to begin today, with #Binance among the first exchanges to list the asset. The #airdrop is widely considered one of the largest on Ethereum in recent years, reflecting the scale of demand for layer-2 solutions.

Eligibility was based on activity snapshots captured in July, after months of on-chain campaigns, quests, and engagement initiatives designed to encourage community participation.
