$TRUMP ETF Filing Marks Latest #MemeCoin Investment Push
Canary Capital Group has filed with the SEC to launch an exchange-traded fund tracking the
$TRUMP meme coin linked to President Donald #Trump.
The proposed Canary
$TRUMP #ETF would provide traditional brokerage access to the politically charged digital asset.
Multiple firms are pursuing similar products, including Tuttle and a joint proposal from Osprey Funds and Rex Shares. The filings come after the #SEC clarified in February that meme coins are not securities, potentially smoothing the approval path.
The
$TRUMP token launched three days before Trump's inauguration in January and quickly gained traction on social media platforms. Major
#crypto exchanges rushed to list the token faster than typical meme coin offerings, according to Reuters analysis.
Critics have raised conflict-of-interest concerns about the president's involvement in cryptocurrency. However, the White House has denied wrongdoing, stating Trump's assets are held in a family-managed trust with no conflict of interest.
