$BTC Miners Move $29.6M After 15-Year Dormancy Period

Five #Satoshi-era wallets have transferred 250 $BTC, worth $29.6 million, after 15.3 years of inactivity.

Each address originally received 50 $BTC as mining rewards in April 2010.

Those coins were worth just 15 cents total when mined at $0.003 per $BTC.

#Mining costs were negligible, with consumer CPUs using roughly 95 watts at 11.5 cents per kilowatt-hour.

The wallets consolidated holdings into new SegWit addresses supporting advanced features.

$BTC has surged over 27% since January and trades near $118,480, just 4% below all-time highs.

Dormant coin movements have become common as longtime holders realize gains amid $BTC institutional accumulation.
