Polygon Heimdall Mainnet Recovers After Temporary Consensus Bug


The #polygon Heimdall V2 mainnet experienced a one-hour outage starting at 9:30 a.m. UTC on Wednesday.


Consensus client went down due to suspected validator exit from the network.


Bor layer continued normal block production and transaction processing throughout the downtime.


Block explorers are now re-synced and displaying appropriate network data.


Several RPC providers experienced sync inconsistencies following Heimdall's recovery.


The Heimdall V2 upgrade launched in July, reducing finality times to five seconds.


The platform calls it the "most technically complex hard fork" since its 2020 launch.


Enhanced performance introduces system complexity and additional breaking points.


The previous Heimdall V1 caused several hours of downtime in March 2022.
