#eToro Plans #Tokenization of 100 Most Popular U.S. Stocks on #Ethereum
ETOR will launch tokenized versions of the 100 most popular U.S. stocks and ETFs as ERC-20 tokens on the Ethereum blockchain.
The tokenized assets will enable 24/5 trading and eventual integration with DeFi protocols.
Users will be able to transfer tokenized stocks into self-custody wallets and bring them back to the platform.
The move follows #Robinhood's launch of an Arbitrum-based layer-2 blockchain for tokenizing U.S. stocks for European investors.
Backed Finance recently launched over 60 tokenized stocks on ByBit, Kraken, and #Solana DeFi protocols.
Tokenized stocks currently represent $418 million of the total $21.3 billion #RWA market, with significant room for growth according to industry executives.
