BlackRock Ethereum ETF Staking Request Acknowledged by #SEC
The SEC has acknowledged Nasdaq's proposal allowing staking for #BlackRock's spot
$ETH exchange-traded fund.
If approved, the world's largest asset manager could participate in Ethereum's proof-of-stake consensus using ETF funds.
Staking rewards would be passed along to shareholders as income for the trust.
The regulator has 45 days to decide but has already extended similar decisions from Bitwise and Grayscale.
Spot #Ethereum ETFs have generated $9.4 billion in net inflows since their debut, with BlackRock contributing $9.5 billion.
The lack of staking rewards has been viewed as a major drawback for the products since launch.
$ETH recently climbed to nearly eight-month highs around $3,800 amid growing institutional #ETF demand.
