$ETH Gas Limit Jumps 25% to 45 Million Units


$ETH validators have increased the network's block gas limit to 45 million units, marking a 25% rise from February's cap of 36 million.


Nearly half of all validators signaled support for the increase, which activates automatically once a majority consensus is reached.


The adjustment enables each block to process more data and handle higher transaction volumes without requiring a hard fork.


Validators are targeting a 60 million gas limit in the short term, with long-term goals reaching 150 million through the upcoming Fusaka upgrade.


Developers introduced #EIP-7983 safeguards capping individual transaction gas usage to prevent network attacks and maintain #Ethereum stability.
