$ETH Gas Limit Jumps 8% as Validators Signal Support for Higher Throughput


#Ethereum's gas limit rose from 36 million to over 39 million units on Sunday afternoon.


Nearly 48% of staked $ETH now signals support to pump the gas limit to 45 million or higher.


Vitalik Buterin called the increase "safe" following recent #Geth optimizations that reduced node storage by 90%.


The #gaslimit adjustment allows more transactions per block during high network activity.


Validators automatically raise limits when the majority signals support through their client configurations.


Higher limits could challenge smaller node operators due to increased processing costs.


Each block can adjust the limit by around 0.1% of the previous total as validators vote upward.
