CoinDCX Loses $44M in Sophisticated Server Breach Attack


Indian cryptocurrency exchange CoinDCX suffered a $44 million hack on Friday through internal account compromise.


The exploit targeted operational accounts used for liquidity provisions with another exchange.


CEO Sumit Gupta confirms no user funds were affected as customer wallets remain segregated from operational accounts.


ZachXBT traced the stolen funds and revealed the attacker used #TornadoCash for initial funding before bridging assets.


The hack occurred exactly one year after WazirX lost $235 million in a similar #cybersecurity incident.


CoinDCX is absorbing the losses from treasury reserves while containing the breach to isolated operational systems.
