Base App Launches as #Coinbase Transforms Wallet Into #Crypto Everything App


Coinbase has rebranded its Wallet as Base App, combining social media, #trading, payments, and mini-apps in one platform.


The app features an open social network powered by Farcaster where creators own content and earn directly from posts.


Integrated trading allows users to buy, sell, and swap cryptocurrencies directly within the social feed interface.


NFC payments enable tap-to-pay instant transfers using Circle's $USDC through the "Base Pay" feature.


Hundreds of embedded mini-applications for gaming, yield farming, and prediction markets are also included in the #Base ecosystem.


The app remains in beta with a waitlist as Coinbase competes with Meta, X, and other companies developing super apps.
