#ETH Shorts Liquidated as Price Surges Past $3,330


$ETH traders betting against the cryptocurrency lost big as more than $152 million in short positions got liquidated.


The second-largest crypto by market cap jumped 9% to trade above $3,330, causing massive pain for bears.


#Ethereum shorts accounted for over half of all crypto liquidations in the past day totaling $251 million.


Meanwhile, $BTC's more conservative 1.6% gain only resulted in $34 million worth of liquidated shorts.


Trading volume for $ETH spiked 15% to $132 billion, actually surpassing #Bitcoin's $109 billion in daily volume.


Futures volume grew 27% while open interest increased 8.73%, signaling fresh positioning without excessive leverage.


#BitMEX founder Arthur Hayes declared this "ETH szn" and announced plans to invest in #DeFi protocols through his Maelstrom Fund.
