#Metaplanet Adds 797 $BTC Worth $94M as $BTC Hits New Highs


Japanese investment firm Metaplanet has purchased another 797 $BTC for $93.6 million, at an average price of $117,451 per $BTC.


The acquisition brings their total holdings to 16,352 $BTC worth $1.64 billion, making them the world's fifth-largest corporate $BTC holder.


CEO Simon Gerovich announced the purchase as $BTC traded at $120,754, with the company targeting over 210,000 $BTC by end of 2027.


#Metaplanet transformed from hotel management to a $BTC treasury strategy last year, reporting 42.4% revenue growth in Q2.


The firm plans to #leverage its $BTC holdings to acquire cash-generating businesses in digital financial services.


Company shares rose 1% to 1,580 yen following the announcement as Bitcoin continues setting new #ATH records.
