#Maple Protocol Adds EtherFi's
$weETH as Collateral for Institutional
$USDC Loans
Maple has integrated EtherFi's
$weETH token as accepted collateral for its on-chain credit platform, enabling qualified borrowers to access
$USDC loans.
The decentralized lending protocol will offer a limited-time 2% APY rebate in
$ETHFI tokens for the first $50 million in loans backed by weETH.
Overcollateralized loans carry a two-month term with a $5 million minimum size requirement for institutional borrowers on the platform.
$MPL launched on #Ethereum in 2021 as a credit protocol connecting borrowers with lenders through on-chain liquidity pools.
CEO Sid Powell stated that restaked assets like weETH are taking a central role in how institutional capital allocates on-chain funding.
The weETH asset is one of the most widely used across DeFi for #restaking, securing multiple protocols with the same underlying asset.
The token maintains a $5.3 billion circulating supply with approximately 75% deployed as collateral in protocols like #Aave
