#Metaplanet Adds 1,234 $BTC, Pushing Holdings Above $1.3 Billion


Japan's biggest publicly traded Bitcoin treasury company has purchased 1,234 $BTC worth approximately $132 million.


The acquisition brings Metaplanet's total holdings to 12,345 $BTC, currently valued at more than $1.3 billion.


The firm bought the $BTC at 15,617,281 yen per token, roughly $108,129 at current conversion rates.


This marks Metaplanet's third-largest $BTC purchase as it targets accumulating 100,000 Bitcoin by 2026.


Metaplanet ranks as the seventh-largest $BTC holder among publicly traded firms, according to   Bitcointreasuries.net.


The company leads as the largest non-American firm holding $BTC on its balance sheet.


More than 140 publicly traded companies now hold Bitcoin treasuries worth a combined $90 billion.


Metaplanet's stock fell 5% to 1,509 yen despite the major $BTC acquisition, reflecting broader market volatility.
