#Metaplanet Allocates $5 Billion to U.S. Subsidiary for Global $BTC Treasury Strategy

Japan's Metaplanet has approved a massive $5 billion capital injection into its wholly-owned U.S. subsidiary to accelerate global expansion.

The company currently holds 11,111 $BTC, making it the eighth-largest corporate holder globally.

Metaplanet recently added another 1,111 $BTC to its treasury, trailing Tesla by just 398 $BTC.

The funding will be generated through the exercise of stock acquisition rights as part of an aggressive expansion phase.

Metaplanet's Miami-based U.S. unit was established last month for global market penetration.

The Japanese firm adopted its $BTC accumulation strategy in April 2024 to boost long-term shareholder value.

Stock performance showed mixed reactions with MTPLF down 5.9% and Tokyo shares falling 6.36% during afternoon trading.

The company expects limited financial impact on the current fiscal year from this capital contribution.
