#Coinbase Secures EU-Wide MiCA License Through Luxembourg for 27-Country Access


Coinbase has obtained comprehensive MiCA licensing in Luxembourg, enabling #crypto services across all European Union member states.


The exchange received approval from the Luxembourg Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier for its European hub operations.


This license unifies Coinbase's existing permits in Germany, France, Ireland, Italy, Spain and the Netherlands under a single #MiCA framework.


The comprehensive regulations came into full effect in late 2024, establishing standardized crypto asset guidelines across the EU trading bloc.


#Gemini exchange is pursuing a similar MiCA license in Malta, while OKX selected Malta as its European regulatory base.


The licensing enables millions of Europeans to access regulated crypto trading, custody and staking services.


Coinbase's unified approach positions it competitively against other exchanges seeking #European market expansion through fragmented licensing.
