Arizona Senate Revives Bill Creating State
$BTC Reserve Fund
Arizona lawmakers have passed HB 2324 in a 16-14 Senate vote, moving the legislation back to the House for final consideration.
The bill would establish a state-managed reserve fund specifically for seized #crypto assets obtained through criminal forfeiture.
Under the proposed framework, Arizona's State Treasurer could invest, reinvest, and divest funds in #DigitalAssets or crypto #ETFs.
Revenue distribution follows a tiered structure where the first $300,000 from asset sales goes to the Anti-Racketeering Fund.
Amounts exceeding that threshold get split three ways, with 50% going to the Anti-Racketeering Fund, 25% to the General Fund, and 25% to the new
$BTC reserve.
The legislation previously failed House review in May before returning to the Senate for amendments.
Arizona separately enacted HB 2749 last month, which addresses unclaimed crypto assets, while HB 2324 focuses specifically on forfeited digital assets.
This comes as the federal #GENIUS stablecoin bill moves through Congress with strong support from President #Trump.
