#Crypto Lobby Pushes for Developer Protections in #DigitalAsset Clarity Act

Seven major crypto advocacy groups are urging lawmakers to include software developer protections in the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act of 2025.

The coalition wants the Blockchain Regulatory Certainty Act added to prevent non-custodial platform developers from being classified as money transmitters.

Groups including Coin Center, #DeFi Education Fund, and Blockchain Association argue that developers have little in common with traditional financial institutions.

The #CLARITY Act would redefine SEC and CFTC roles toward digital assets, while the additional bill would protect #blockchain infrastructure providers.

Representatives Tom Emmer and Ritchie Torres reintroduced the developer protection legislation last month as part of broader regulatory momentum.

The lobby emphasized watching for "unconstitutional surveillance requirements" being added to crypto legislation during the regulatory process.
