$BTC Strategic Asset for America, Says VP Vance


Vice President JD Vance addressed the $BTC community at the Bitcoin 2025 conference in Las Vegas on Wednesday.


He emphasized #Bitcoin's role as a "strategically important asset" for the United States over the next decade.


Vance highlighted the administration's commitment to eliminating regulatory red tape that hindered crypto growth under previous leadership.


The VP called for clear stablecoin regulations and a transparent digital asset framework to welcome crypto into the mainstream economy.


He noted that $BTC serves as a hedge against bad policymaking, inflation, and discriminatory practices by traditional financial institutions.


Vance disclosed he still owns "a fair amount" of Bitcoin, with previous filings showing holdings up to $500,000.


The administration aims to prevent the $3 trillion crypto industry from moving offshore due to regulatory uncertainty.
