#Cetus Protocol Loses $200M in Oracle Manipulation Attack on
$SUI
Attackers exploited vulnerabilities in Cetus smart contracts, using spoof tokens to drain liquidity pools.
$LOFI,
$HIPPO , and
$SQUIRT respectively crashed 76%, 80%, and 97% within one hour.
The
$CETUS token itself dropped 53% as 46 SUI tokens posted double-digit losses.
Cyvers' CEO confirmed that the exploit manipulated price curves and reserve calculations across multiple pools.
The attacker currently holds $164 million in a SUI wallet and has bridged $61.5 million
$USDC to
$ETH.
Cetus paused smart contracts immediately to prevent further losses from the #Oracle attack.
Of the compromised funds, $162 million has been successfully frozen, according to the protocol's announcement.
$SUI surprisingly rose 2.2% over 24 hours despite the massive exploit on its largest DEX.
