#Circle Acquisition Rumors Swirl Despite $5B #IPO Plans


$USDC issuer Circle is reportedly in discussions with both $XRP creator Ripple Labs and #Coinbase despite filing for a $5 billion IPO in April.


#Coinbase emerges as the frontrunner after securing an equity stake in Circle when their Centre Consortium venture concluded in 2023.


Current revenue-sharing agreements already give Coinbase significant control over Circle's operations, with one source noting, "they're like one company."


#Ripple previously offered $4-5 billion for Circle but was rejected, though it maintains substantial resources with over $100 billion in $XRP holdings.


Circle officially maintains it is "not for sale" and remains committed to its IPO path despite the ongoing acquisition rumors.
