Panama City Mayor Hints at $BTC Reserve After Meeting El Salvador Leaders


Panama City Mayor Mayer Mizrachi posted "Bitcoin Reserve" on X after meeting with El Salvador's Bitcoin advisors Max Keiser and Stacy Herbert.


The cryptic message came just 11 days before the Bitcoin 2025 conference, where Mizrachi is scheduled to speak.


Panama City has already approved crypto for public payments, including taxes and fees.

$BTC, $ETH, $USDT and $USDC will be accepted once payment rails are established.


El Salvador's Bitcoin reserve holds 6,179 #BTC worth nearly $640 million.

The trio discussed Bitcoin #mining and renewable energy opportunities between Panama and El Salvador.


Panama City will integrate El Salvador's "What is Money?" textbook into its online library system.
