Mastercard Expands #Crypto Push With MoonPay #Stablecoin Card Partnership


#Mastercard has partnered with #MoonPay to launch global stablecoin payment cards that will enable transactions across 150 million merchants worldwide.


The rollout will utilize infrastructure from Iron, a stablecoin payment firm acquired by MoonPay in March, with transactions automatically converting to fiat currency.


This collaboration adds to Mastercard's growing #portfolio of crypto initiatives, following recent partnerships with OKX, Nuvei, and Circle.


The payment giant's strategic expansion comes as rival Visa pilots similar stablecoin services across six Latin American countries.


Despite regulatory uncertainties in many jurisdictions, card networks are betting on stablecoins for remittances, creator economies, and cross-border commerce.
