U.S. #Inflation Drops to 3-Year Low of 2.3% in April

Consumer prices rose 0.2% in April, reversing March's 0.1% decline.

#AnnualInflation slowed to 2.3%, down from March's 2.4%, marking the lowest rate since February 2021.

Core inflation held steady at 2.8% annually, unchanged from March and in line with economists’ forecasts.

The #FederalReserve maintained #interest rates at 4.25%-4.50% last Wednesday, with Powell citing uncertainty from tariff policies.

Current market #data shows just a 15% probability of a June rate cut as of May 13, dropping significantly from 34% earlier this month.

Housing costs contributed significantly, with the shelter index rising 0.3% and accounting for over half of the monthly increase.

Analysts found limited evidence of tariff impacts in April's data, though furniture, bedding, and appliance prices showed notable increases.
