Bitwise Files for First-Ever Spot $NEAR Protocol ETF


Bitwise has submitted an S-1 registration statement to the SEC for a spot $NEAR Protocol exchange-traded fund (ETF).


The filing comes nearly two weeks after Bitwise's preliminary step of registering a NEAR ETF entity in Delaware.


If approved, the ETF would give traditional investors $NEAR exposure through brokerage accounts without directly holding the digital asset, similar to Bitwise's $BITB spot Bitcoin ETF.


This application joins a growing wave of altcoin #ETF proposals, including those for $DOGE, $PENGU, $SEI, and $TRX funds.


The $NEAR token was trading at $2.30 after falling 2.15% in the 24 hours following the announcement.
