U.S. on Verge of #AI Superpower, Says Treasury Chief Bessent
United States Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent declared on Wednesday that the country is “on the verge of becoming an AI superpower” under President Donald Trump’s leadership. Speaking during a cabinet meeting, Bessent emphasized the administration’s focus on revitalizing key sectors through targeted policy reforms.
Bessent highlighted a “barbelled” economy shaped by growth in tech, finance, and energy. “The previous administration tried to kill energy,” Bessent remarked, adding that Trump’s approach is restoring balance by “filling in the in-between with precision manufacturing.”
The remarks came as part of a broader reflection on the #Trump administration’s achievements during its first 100 days in office.
