Canada Elects #Bitcoin Critic Mark Carney, Defeating Pro-Crypto Opponent

Mark Carney has won Monday’s Canadian federal election, defeating Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre. A former Bank of England governor and vocal $BTC skeptic, Carney will remain prime minister after assuming the role from Justin Trudeau in March.

Poilievre, who previously led in polls and was endorsed by Elon Musk, ran on a pro-Bitcoin platform. However, support shifted to Carney amid U.S. President Trump's aggressive rhetoric toward Canada, including tariff threats and sovereignty remarks.
