HSBC, one of the world's largest financial conglomerates and the UK's largest bank by assets, has begun working with Polygon.

HSBC is building a decentralized identity solution with Polygon ID. HSBC Head of Labs Ben Chodroff appeared at Hong Kong FinTech Week with a live demo of a DID prototype using Polygon ID, a private, decentralized, sovereign identity protocol for the next iteration of the Internet. The following is a summary of the presentation.

Polygon ID is a suite of DID tools with a strong focus on privacy, decentralization, and user data sovereignty. Developers can use it to enable the exchange of verifiable and secure credentials with cryptographic proofs (or zero-knowledge proofs) and blockchain. Polygon ID's support of the W3C open source identity standard and ability to integrate with public and private ledgers is one of the reasons why the solution was chosen by HSBC.
