Security specialist Plumferno detected and tracked the fraudulent activities, which involved pilfering funds from inactive accounts, including those possibly impacted by the BlockFi bankruptcy.</p>

Plumferno expressed concern that many victims, especially dormant account holders, might still be ignorant of the theft.</p>
