Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko has raised a new open proposal to the community in a bid to correct the network challenges the blockchain is having. In his latest call, he advocated for stress testing the network through the forking of the ORE protocol. 
<h2 id="strong-forking-ore-benefit-to-everyone-strong">Forking ORE: Benefit To Everyone</h2> 
The proposal to stress test Solana as shared by Yakovenko came as a direct response to an earlier X post from Chaofan Shou, a PhD student at the University of Berkley on how he earns $10,000 daily from mining ORE. 
Giving a background, he introduced ORE as a token built on Solana but which uses a mining system as a means for claiming. While his setup hinges on bloXroute and Jito Bundles, the lucrativeness of the venture appears as something Yakovenko believes forking it for a more mainstream embrace will be appealing to all. 
In his proposal, he asked if someone can “build an ORE fork but with a miner on solana’s testnet then airdrop rewards on mainnet?” 
The logic in this proposal is not hard to decipher as Solana’s core developers are currently exploring a number of solutions on the blockchain’s testnet to solidify its durability in a broader move to resolve the <a href="https://coingape.com/solana-faces-second-network-congestion-in-two-days-anza-issues-fix/">congestion issues</a> being experienced. To Yakovenko, an attractive ORE fork can draw thousands or even millions of users who at the same time will provide the needed traffic that can show if Solana is breaking the congestion jinx. 
The incentive attributed to the ORE forking, for anyone looking to take on the venture, was spelled out by the Solana founder. He confirmed that the blockchain’s core developers and all validators will support the move and while testers or miners will get free monetizable tokens, Solana will get its much-coveted stress test.

The issue of resolving Solana has engulfed every key stakeholder within the ecosystem. Many propositions have been teased, including enhancing security and stability through the introduction of the <a href="https://coingape.com/solana-founder-shares-take-on-swqos-model-confusion/">Stake Weighted Quality of Service</a> (SWQoS). 
While the Solana congestion menace has dragged down the protocol overall, Yakovenko has revealed how getting a lasting solution will take time. The impact of the delay is high as many builders or innovators are halting the launch of their projects.&nbsp; 
Others are gradually moving to alternative protocols, necessitating a need for a workable and fast solution. Besides the ORE forking proposal, validator client Anza has also released a <a href="https://coingape.com/solana-network-congestion-anza-deploys-crucial-upgrade/">crucial upgrade</a> that is currently being tested.
