The move comes as crypto markets regain stronger risk appetite. VET also benefits from growing excitement around the upcoming Interstellar upgrade.
VeChain Gains Momentum as Crypto Market Turns Risk-On

The broader crypto market has created a supportive backdrop for VeChain. Total crypto market capitalization currently sits near $2.63 trillion. The market has gained roughly 0.4% over the past 24 hours. Bitcoin dominance remains around 59.6%, showing continued strength from the market leader. Investor sentiment also remains firmly positive across the crypto market. The Fear & Greed Index currently stands at 76. Such a reading points toward strong risk appetite among crypto traders.

Bitcoin’s move through the $79,000 to $80,000 region further strengthened market confidence. Spot Bitcoin ETFs have also recorded significant net inflows recently. Supportive macro conditions have added more fuel to the broader recovery. Altcoins often benefit when Bitcoin establishes stronger momentum. Traders then begin searching for tokens offering greater upside potential. VET has gained from that rotation during the latest market move. The token has also attracted attention following a notable technical shift.

VET climbed from roughly $0.00673 to $0.00716 within 24 hours. That move represents a gain of approximately 6.5%. The advance follows a prolonged period of weakness for VeChain. Recent price action now suggests a possible breakout from a multi-month downtrend. Technical traders could view such a move as an early momentum signal. A sustained breakout could encourage additional buyers to enter the market. However, traders still need confirmation before calling the move a lasting reversal.

Interstellar Upgrade Adds a Major Catalyst

The upcoming Interstellar upgrade provides another reason to watch VET closely. VeChain plans to activate the upgrade on September 16, 2026. The protocol change follows a successful all-stakeholder vote. Interstellar, also known as VIP-255, focuses heavily on improving VeChainThor’s EVM compatibility. The upgrade aligns VeChainThor with Ethereum’s Cancun, Prague, and Osaka developments.

Developers will gain access to new EVM opcodes and cryptographic precompiles. The upgrade also introduces changes involving core protocol limits. These improvements could strengthen VeChain’s long-term technical foundation. That narrative has already generated speculative interest around VET. Traders often position ahead of major network upgrades during bullish periods.

Still, the upgrade alone does not explain the latest 6.5% move. The current rally reflects several forces working together. Bitcoin’s strength created a favorable market environment for altcoins. Technical momentum then helped VET attract additional buying pressure. Interstellar added a clear fundamental narrative for traders to follow.
