WHAT IS AN AI AGENT?

In the world of crypto and emerging technologies, an AI Agent refers to an intelligent software system capable of performing tasks autonomously. Instead of simply responding to commands, an AI Agent can interact with its environment, gather information, analyze context, make decisions, and take action — all with the goal of achieving predefined objectives.

In practical terms, an AI Agent is essentially a large language model (LLM) equipped with the tools it needs to carry out a specific role. What makes it unique is its ability to make rational, goal-oriented decisions without human intervention, allowing it to operate more like an independent digital worker than a traditional chatbot.

🔍 What Is an LLM?

An LLM (Large Language Model) is a type of machine learning model trained on massive amounts of text. This training allows it to understand context, generate coherent sentences, reason across information, and engage in complex conversations.
It serves as the “brain” of an AI Agent, enabling it to process language, interpret user intent, and evaluate information before taking action.

📌 Core Characteristics of an AI Agent

Although AI Agents can range from simple rule-based automations to advanced machine learning systems, they generally share four foundational traits:

▶ Autonomy
The ability to operate independently and pursue goals without step-by-step human instructions.

▶ Scalability
The capacity to integrate external data sources, APIs, and specialized tools, enabling more complex behavior.

▶ Problem-Solving Ability
The skill to analyze tasks, weigh options, and determine the most efficient path to a solution.

▶ Specialization
A focus on completing specific end-to-end tasks — whether that involves trading, research, system operations, or user interaction.

📌 What Can AI Agents Do?

With their combination of decision-making, tool usage, and language understanding, AI Agents are rapidly expanding into a wide range of use cases, including:

Automating Web3 interactions such as contract calls, bridging, and wallet operations

Executing trading strategies or risk-management routines

Powering smarter and more adaptive NPCs in gaming

Gathering data, conducting analysis, or generating content

Serving as autonomous customer support or workflow assistants

As LLMs and blockchain infrastructure continue to evolve, AI Agents are set to redefine how users interact with applications, protocols, and digital systems across the entire Web3 ecosystem.

FET is the native token of the Fetch.ai network, an AI-driven platform that enables developers to build, deploy, and connect intelligent agents capable of automating Web3 digital asset interactions. Since launch, FET has consistently been recognized as one of the top AI Agent-related tokens.

To align with the broader AI movement, Fetch.ai merged with SingularityNET and Ocean Protocol to form a decentralized artificial intelligence alliance known as ASI (Artificial Superintelligence). As part of the merger, the FET token is being replaced by $ASI.

The transition is now entering its critical phase. FET, designated as the base token of the alliance, will be converted to ASI at a 1:1 ratio. As ASI smart contracts roll out and the mainnet goes live, the remaining FET in circulation will migrate to the new standard.
Holders should monitor official announcements for exchange timelines and wallet migration instructions.

Virtuals Protocol is a platform designed for launching AI Agent projects. It went live on Base—an Ethereum Layer 2—in October 2024, aiming to simplify the creation and deployment of blockchain-based intelligent agents. One of its standout features is allowing users to monetize their AI Agent projects through tokenized revenue-sharing models.

In simple terms, Virtuals lowers the barrier to creating and participating in AI Agents, much like how Pump.fun lowered the barrier for launching memecoins.

VIRTUAL is the governance token of the platform, available on both Ethereum and Base. Each newly created agent token pairs its liquidity pool with VIRTUAL, and deploying a new AI Agent requires a fixed amount of VIRTUAL.

Because VIRTUAL acts as the pairing token for all agent pools, users must swap through VIRTUAL whenever purchasing an agent token with ETH, USDC, or other assets. This design introduces natural buying pressure and gives VIRTUAL deflationary characteristics, enhancing value for long-term holders.

✅ ai16z (AI16Z → ELIZAOS)

Ai16z launched in October as the first AI-managed venture DAO, led by “AI Marc.” Its mission is to combine artificial intelligence with collective intelligence to make better investment decisions. The project quickly drew attention, positioning itself as a new kind of AI-native venture organization.

Despite its name resembling the well-known VC firm Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), the two have no affiliation. However, the project gained traction after a series of posts from a16z co-founder Marc Andreessen acknowledged and commented on it on X.

Since launch, AI16Z has become one of the leading AI Agent-themed tokens, reaching repeated all-time highs.

To better reflect its broader ambition of building a full AI Agent operating system, ai16z underwent a complete rebrand to elizaOS, and the original AI16Z token was upgraded to ELIZAOS.

As part of the migration, the token supply was consolidated through a 10:1 redenomination — meaning 10 old AI16Z tokens convert to 1 new ELIZAOS token — improving liquidity and optimizing token economics.

✅ GAME by Virtuals (GAME)

GAME is a token associated with the Virtuals Protocol ecosystem. Users can swap GAME into the main VIRTUAL token, creating interoperability between the two assets.

Within the Virtuals ecosystem, GAME may be used for in-game payments, virtual marketplace interactions, and other activities that tie players and developers into the broader protocol environment.

According to the team, GAME functions like the “Shopify of the Virtuals ecosystem”—a low-code, plug-and-play, modular framework specifically designed for building AI Agents and participating in agent-driven commerce.

✅ Delysium (AGI)

Delysium is a framework built to support a scalable and decentralized network of AI Agents, aiming to power a fully AI-driven virtual society. The project focuses on solving key challenges across AI and blockchain, including security, decentralization, scalability, and efficient communication between agents.

In the Delysium vision, everyone will eventually have at least one autonomous AI Agent operating on the network—acting as a personal digital assistant that enhances daily life through various services and automated tasks.

The $AGI token sits at the heart of this ecosystem, powering interactions, operations, and economic activity across these autonomous agents.
