World Liberty Financial, a cryptocurrency venture backed by the Trump family, is exploring plans to create a publicly traded company to hold its WLFI tokens, aiming to raise about $1.5 billion, Bloomberg reported. 
The deal structure is still being finalized, but major tech and crypto investors have been approached, with talks described as moving quickly, according to the report. The company’s website lists President <a href="https://financefeeds.com/trump-media-stock-drops-after-20m-quarterly-loss/">Donald Trump</a> as “co-founder emeritus.” 
The proposed entity would join a growing group of digital-asset treasury firms — publicly listed companies that hold large reserves of cryptocurrencies. Such firms have raised an estimated $79 billion in 2025 for Bitcoin purchases alone. 
Investor materials cited in the report suggest the WLFI treasury vehicle would be created by taking over an existing Nasdaq-listed shell company — a model similar to Michael Saylor’s <a href="https://financefeeds.com/metaplanet-aggressive-bitcoin-push-with-2b-btc-holding/">MicroStrategy</a>, now rebranded as Strategy. That firm pivoted to become a Bitcoin holding company in 2020, amassing more than $72 billion in BTC and reaching a market cap of nearly $113 billion. 
The success of Strategy’s stock as a de facto Bitcoin proxy has inspired imitators, from Japanese hotel chains to new treasury firms focused on Ether, Litecoin, Sui, and other tokens. Earlier this year, Trump Media bought $2 billion worth of Bitcoin for its own treasury. 
<h2 id="trump-s-token-windfall">Trump’s Token Windfall</h2> 
Trump disclosed in June that he earned $57.4 million from sales of his stake in <a href="https://financefeeds.com/trump-quietly-cuts-stake-in-crypto-venture-world-liberty-financial/">World Liberty Financial</a>. His 2025 public financial disclosure states he holds 15.75 billion WLFI governance tokens. 
Since its launch last year, World Liberty Financial pitched itself as a DeFi and stablecoin platform. It has already raised about $550 million through two public token sales. High-profile backers include Tron founder Justin Sun, who invested $30 million for 2 billion tokens, and Web3Port, which contributed $10 million in January. 
Gemini co-founders Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss also invested into American Bitcoin Corp., a crypto mining company tied to Eric Trump, as the firm gears up for a public listing, according to a report from Bloomberg. 
The investment was part of a private placement round that raised approximately $220 million in a mix of cash and bitcoin. The funding round was “oversubscribed,” according to Asher Genoot, CEO of&nbsp;<a href="https://financefeeds.com/hut-8-secures-difc-license-to-strengthen-bitcoin-treasury-strategy/">Hut 8</a>&nbsp;— the company from which American Bitcoin Corp. was spun off. 
The company’s current products include USD1, a dollar-backed stablecoin, and a planned crypto-lending app. If the treasury listing proceeds, it would mark one of the largest public-market forays yet for a <a href="https://financefeeds.com/bitcoin-adviser-to-trump-eyes-200m-pac-to-push-crypto-agenda/">politically connected digital-asset firm</a>.
