Synthetic dollar protocol Falcon Finance has announced that it now supports more than 16 crypto assets as collateral. As a result, users across a broad range of networks can deposit their preferred digital asset and mint USDf, the protocol’s yield-bearing stablecoin.
Falcon now supports a variety of stablecoins and non-stable assets including USDC, USDT, FDUSD, BTC, and ETH. Recent assets added to this list include MOV, POL, FET, COTI, BEAMX, and DEXE, with plans to increase the range of accepted collateral as Falcon expands access to its protocol.
Currently in closed beta, Falcon Finance has over $80M in TVL driven by demand for its synthetic dollar that currently offers an attractive yield of over 22%. After depositing their preferred crypto asset, users can mint USDf and stake it to generate its yield-bearing counterpart, sUSDf.
Through capturing onchain opportunities for yield including basis spread, funding rate, and advanced risk-adjusted strategies, Falcon is able to offer a superior return to comparable stablecoin products. Designed for institutional participants as well as verified retail users, Falcon is currently open to whitelisted individuals.
The rapid growth in TVL, which has more than doubled in 30 days, has been aided by a $10M allocation from DeXE Protocol, whose governance token is one of the supported collateral assets. After depositing their chosen collateral, users receive USDf deposited into their wallet, whereupon they can stake it and begin earning a return on their assets. USDf is also available for trading on Uniswap, allowing anyone to access the synthetic dollar.
The closed beta has been used to grow TVL and demonstrate the efficacy and security of Falcon’s protocol for stablecoin issuance. Plans are now in hand to exit closed beta, giving all market participants an opportunity to deposit stable or non-stable assets and begin earning yield.
