The&nbsp;<a style="text-decoration:none" href="https://bsc.news/post/solana-blockchain-ecosystem-deep-dive">Solana</a> memecoin space is very crowded indeed. Many other&nbsp;<a style="text-decoration:none" href="https://bsc.news/post/layer-1-blockchains-ultimate-guide">layer-1</a> networks like&nbsp;<a style="text-decoration:none" href="https://bsc.news/post/what-is-bnb-chain-layer-one-blockchain-guide">BNB</a> have tried to compete, but Solana still leads the memecoin world. Today we look at one interesting Solana memecoin that is still small in size:&nbsp;<a style="text-decoration:none" href="https://www.fricofficial.xyz/">Fric the Frog</a> and its&nbsp;<a style="text-decoration:none" href="https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/fric/#Chart">FRIC</a> token.

The FRIC token reached its ATH market cap of more than $30 million at the end of January 2025. However, the token's value has dropped to around $7 million at the time of writing, demonstrating the inherent volatility of early-stage memecoins - even those with engaged communities.

The project itself is built around the 'Fric the Frog' character - a fun cartoon frog. The artwork surrounding this character appears to have been the driving force behind its traction so far.

This isn't bad for a project that's only a few months old. However, it's much less than major Solana memecoins like POPCAT, which has more than&nbsp;<a style="text-decoration:none" href="https://solscan.io/token/7GCihgDB8fe6KNjn2MYtkzZcRjQy3t9GHdC8uHYmW2hr">131,000 holders</a>.

The biggest FRIC token holders are, not surprisingly, exchanges - both centralized and decentralized ones.
With that said, there are also some wallet addresses that hold large amounts of the token. In fact, 9 wallet addresses currently hold more than 1% of all tokens each. This is normal for a memecoin, but it means a small number of people could cause the price to drop a lot if they decided to sell in sudden fashion.
