<h5><strong>Dogecoin’s Close Call: Outdated Software Exposed Network Risk</strong></h5>
<p>This flaw could have been a much bigger disaster. If the hacker had taken things further, the entire Dogecoin network might have gone down. That would have left users unable to send or receive their Dogecoin, putting their funds at risk. Luckily, the damage stopped before it reached that point, but it was a close call.</p>
<p>The problem came from outdated software running on many <a href="https://dogecoin.com/dogepedia/how-tos/operating-a-node/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Dogecoin nodes</a>. The hacker targeted these weaker points, showing just how important it is to keep systems updated.</p>
