<p class="is-style-lead">Cellula, a blockchain gaming platform backed by OKX Ventures and Binance Labs, is securing its renown in the decentralized finance scene, recently outperforming every other protocol in 24-hour revenue.</p> 
<p>Data from Defi Llama shows Cellula has generated an astonishing $179 million in 24-hour revenue on Nov. 21, placing it ahead of other top protocols like Tether, Solana, and Raydium.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to data from Defi Llama, about $8.95 million of this figure directly benefits holders. However, <a href="https://crypto.news/jito-token-rises-as-staked-assets-fees-and-users-jump/" target="_blank">Jito</a>, a liquid staking protocol operating on Solana, follows distantly with $15.55 million in fees and $621,829 in revenue.&nbsp;</p> 
<p>Meanwhile, stablecoin leader <a href="https://crypto.news/tether-to-invest-in-quantoz-to-support-mica-compliant-stablecoins/" target="_blank">Tether</a> recorded $13.37 million in fees, equaling its revenue output. Raydium, a Solana-based DEX, generated $12.47 million in 24-hour fees and $811,337 in revenue, while Solana itself produced fees worth $11.84 million within the same timeframe.</p> 
<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="what-is-cellula">What is Cellula?</h2> 
<p>Launched last year, Cellula is a blockchain-based gaming and asset distribution platform built on compatibility with Ethereum Virtual Machine. The project <a href="https://www.finsmes.com/2024/04/cellula-raises-2m-in-pre-seed-funding.html#:~:text=Cellula%2C%20a%20developer%20of%20a,to%20launch%20its%20first%20game." target="_blank" rel="nofollow">raised</a> $2 million in a pre-funding round in April this year, culminating in its mainnet launch.</p> 
<p>It employs a unique virtual Proof-of-Work consensus mechanism, integrating game theory and Conway’s Game of Life principles, according to its website.&nbsp;</p> 
<p>Interestingly, this design allows for the creation and management of BitLife, virtual on-chain digital entities that are central to its ecosystem. With users having the opportunity to “mine” and interact with BitLife, this approach helps to combine <a href="https://crypto.news/the-defi-market-lacks-decentralization-why-is-this-happening/" target="_blank">DeFi</a> and gamified engagement.</p> 
<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="how-does-vpow-work">How does vPoW work?</h2> 
<p>Cellula has shown a commitment to innovation. A major achievement was the <a href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/news/currencies/cellula-introduces-programmable-incentive-layer-to-gamify-asset-issuance-1033694831" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">introduction</a> of its programmable incentive layer three months back, which bolstered asset issuance within the EVM.&nbsp;</p> 
<p>The initiative incorporated its unique vPoW model, adding principles from Conway’s Game of Life and Game Theory.&nbsp;</p> 
<p>Cellula’s vPoW allows users to participate by creating and managing BitLife entities of traditional mining instead of relying on energy-intensive hardware, according to its <a href="https://medium.com/@cellulalifegame/cellula-the-first-programmable-incentive-layer-to-gamify-asset-issuance-using-vpow-mechanism-01e98a702b89" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">blog post</a>.</p> 
<p>These entities generate rewards and power the ecosystem. The vPoW system prioritizes accessibility, as it allows users to participate without expensive equipment. This makes the mechanism cheaper to operate.<br><br>However, its efficiency like the PoW consensus is yet to be determined.&nbsp;</p>

<p>To support the ecosystem’s growth, the platform launched a monthly token burn initiative in November 2024 to reduce the token’s circulating supply. The inaugural burn removed over 1.6 million CELA tokens, equivalent to 12% of total airdropped tokens.</p>
